  • Cabinetmakers Choice are back on The Block and their Shaker Style wardrobes contributed to “Ronnie and Georgia’s” stylish winning guest bedroom.

  • Hunting for George were named Australia’s best small independent retailer at the online retailer industry awards.

  • Diana Taylor was appointed to the Geelong Authority Board, with one of her key objectives to drive population growth within the city’s CBD.

  • Great Ocean Stays received the Accessible Business Award at the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

  • Dr Richard Milner was named a finalist in the 2017 Royal Australian College of General Practitioners General Practitioner of the Year Awards.

  • Rendine Constructions was named Commercial Builder of the Year (South West) for their construction of the new eastern hub for Karingal, not-for-profit community support centre for disabled persons in Geelong. They also took out the Advanced Manufacturing & Industry Award at the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

  • Wil Wilson from Willie Wildlife Sculptures was awarded four stars at the Chelsea Flower Show in London.
  • Dr Hugh Seward received an AM citation in the Queens Birthday Honours and will be made a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition for his significant service to Australian rules football as a doctor, particularly to the prevention and management of injuries.
