The eligibility requirements for the Business Support Fund have now been expanded and allows small businesses which meet the standard eligibility criteria and are enrolled as eligible participants in the Commonwealth Government’s JobKeeper payment scheme. Businesses do not need to be operating in one of the industry sectors significantly impacted or subject to government closures as originally required. 

The Business Support Fund is a $10,000 grant as part of the Victorian State Government’s economic survival package. Funding can be used to assist with business costs such as utilities, salaries and rent, seeking business advice and other supporting operational activities.

Eligibility

Small businesses are eligible if they: 

•    employ staff

•    have a turnover of more than $75,000

•    have payroll of less than $650,000

•    hold an Australian Business Number (ABN)

•    have been carrying out the operation of the business in Victoria on 16 March 2020.

(Please note all of the above criteria must be met before you can proceed with your application)

And either:

1.    Have been subject to closure or are highly impacted by Victoria’s Non-Essential Activity Directions issued by the Deputy Chief Health Officer

OR

2.  **New Eligibility Criteria** Are enrolled as eligible participants in the Commonwealth Government’s JobKeeper payment scheme.

The above eligibility requirements will need to be certified in writing and are subject to audit.

You will need to fill out an online application form and provide a copy of your most recent Business Activity Statement (BAS) and other supporting materials as relevant.
