The latest business support package (announced Saturday 4 September 2021) seeks to provide relief to Victorian businesses impacted by the extended lockdown. These support payments were intended to cover the four-week period ending Thursday 30 September 2021.

It has been confirmed that the Business Costs Assistance program will continue for industries considered to be most impacted by restrictions and that automatic payments will be made for the period 17-30 September. 

The full list of eligible ANZSIC codes for the Business Costs Assistance Program in regional Victoria outside the City of Ballarat will be available on the Business Victoria website from Friday.

Business Costs Assistance Program

Eligibility:

Previous recipients of the Business Costs Assistance Program Round Two or July Extension who are unable to operate due to restrictions.

Funding available:

  • $2800 a week for businesses with an annual payroll below $650,000
  • $5600 a week for businesses with an annual payroll between $650,000 and less than $3 million
  • $8400 for businesses with an annual payroll of $3 million to $10 million.

Application process:
If eligible, automatic payments will be made to cover ongoing costs such as wages, rent, utilities and insurance.

Licenced Hospitality Venue Fund 2021

Eligibility:
Licensed hospitality businesses that have previously received grants under the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund 2021 or July Extension programs who are unable to operate due to restrictions.

Funding available:

  • $5000 for a capacity of up to 99 patrons or where patron capacity is not specified
  • $10,000 for a capacity of 100 to 499 patrons
  • $20,000 for a capacity of 500 or more.

Application process:
If eligible, automatic payments will be made based on the above capacity limits of the premises. 

Small Business COVID Hardship Fund

The Small Business COVID Hardship Fund will receive further funding in response to the impact of the lockdown extension.

Eligibility: Businesses that have already received a Small Business COVID Hardship Fund grant, were ineligible for the Victorian Government business support programs since May but have experienced a reduction in revenue of at least 70 per cent. This includes businesses that are legally allowed to operate but are restricted in their ability to generate revenue.

Funding available:
Top up payments of $6000 per business.

Application process:

Applications closed on 10 September. If eligible and you had previously applied before this date, automatic payments will be made.

Alpine Support Package

Further funding will be provided to assist resorts through the remainder of the season and September school holidays with an automatic top-up payment of between $10,000 and $40,000, depending on business location and whether they employ staff.
