Access to convenient, flexible and affordable child care is a well-known issue for families in Australia. Clann was established by Liam and Amanda McFadden to address this problem by developing an online platform which connects families to individual childcare providers of their choice and enables them to fully transact directly with each other. It will go live in March 2018.

The Clann platform features include online location maps of screened providers, detailed profiles of individual providers and their venues, direct messaging system, booking management system, payment gateway, and service review features. Registered Clann providers can also access maps showing numbers of registered families in each post code and location of other Clann providers as well as a range of support services including insurance cover, tax and accounting support, and early childhood learning and play resources. Clann also offers their own unique Certificate 3 course in early childhood education and care designed specifically for home based family day care providers.

We are excited to be a part of Clann’s establishment and growth and look forward to seeing the difference it will make for home-based childcare in Australia. To find out more please visit and

Angus Fitzpatrick came up with the fantastic idea of attaching a portable eyewash station to a water bottle to “rynse” eyes of chlorine, dirt or other foreign matter. The product is intended to reduce eye injuries across Australia. He believes it will be of particular use on commercial worksites, at sporting events and ultimately included in first aid kits. His award winning design was officially launched in December 2017.

We love business ideas which respond to a specific market need such as this and we look forward to sharing the journey with Angus and his eye-saving product! To find out more please visit

Camilla has developed Ecokit as a versatile, easy to assemble, low energy kit home, with minimal operating costs and a positive environmental impact. In addition to all this, the designs look great!
