Our client, Tegan Gray, recently flew unchartered territory as one of the first pilots to fly direct from London to Sydney on a non-stop Qantas research flight path!

As a teenager, Tegan Gray would gaze at the high-powered jets from her Leopold home during the Avalon Airshow. When she was in year 8 at Matthew Flinders Secondary College she was given a behind-the-scenes tour of a cockpit during a flight and this sparked her interest in flying.

Now, after more than a decade of experience including flying out of the old Geelong airport near what is now the Surf Coast Highway, Tegan was hand-picked by Qantas to be among the four pilots required to fly the brand new $300 million 787-9 Dreamliner on a 19-hour flight from London to Sydney.

Tegan said the most significant memory of the longer flight was catching two sunrises over both the Netherlands and Indonesia.

Tegan is excited to see how this new flight plan will change the future of travel.
