Support for farming supply chains

Support for farming supply chains

The Federal Government has announced an Economic Resilience Program, which will provide $1 billion in interest‑free loans to businesses in critical supply chains. These include businesses producing and transporting fuels, plastics, fertilisers, and agricultural protection chemicals that Australian farmers and manufacturers rely on every day. This program has been designed to keep Australian production moving, protect local jobs, and build a more resilient economy.

There are two turnover categories for the program:

  1. Applicants with an annual turnover of up to $100 million will be able to apply for interest‑free loans of up to $5 million. Applications are to be made directly through a participating bank. These include:
    • Commonwealth Bank
    • Westpac
    • NAB
    • ANZ
    • Bank of Queensland
    • Bendigo Bank
    • Judo Bank
  2. Applicants with an annual turnover above $100 million will be able to apply for interest‑free loans greater than $5 million. Applications are to be made directly to the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Applicants must have an Australian manufacturing or logistics business and hold an ABN.
  • Businesses must belong to an identified sector based on the eligible ANZSIC codes.
  • There must be documentary evidence to show that the business has been materially impacted by market disruption, such as the fuel crisis.

Applications opened on Monday, 20 April 2026, and will close Tuesday, 20 October 2026.
